He gives the distinct impression that anything less than perfection is simply not acceptable in the medical profession, not for himself nor for anyone on staff; From his crisp white coat to the piercing gaze of ice-blue eyes and his brusque bedside manner, Herr Doktor Jakob Schmidt exemplifies the German medical system which trained him: great to have in an ER or OR surgical setting, thought perhaps not as well suited for family practice where warmth and patient rapport are important!

Bio:

Jakob was born in Berlin, the oldest of three children, to Helmut and Ingrid Schmidt, kinfolk of the CoG,. The son of an apothecary, his mother and father both encouraged him to enter the medical field; being the dutiful son, he obliged.

A graduate of the prestigious Medizinischen Fakultät Mannheim der Universität Heidelberg, Doktor Jakob began working with Médecins Sans Frontières in Syria in January of 2012. He relocated to the MSF medical facility in Kunduz, Afghanistan in January of 2014. and had been providing medical aid for almost two years before a NATO attack destroyed the hospital. and injured his right leg. Jakob returned briefly to Germany to recuperate and to recruit additional help for the MSF mission.
