
Advantages
Advantages range from your choice of backgrounds to flesh your character out, to your virtues and then onto your Humanity (or Path) and Will Power totals. Below we will talk about each of these. If you want more than the generic explanation please see your book.
Backgrounds
​Each background helps flesh your character out. Keep in mind if you have no Resources your character has no money.

Allies: People who like you and will help you out.

Alternate Identity: *VAMPIRE/MAGE ONLY* - You lead a double life, or you might actually be Superman.

Ancestors: *GAROU ONLY* - Do you remember your anscestors? Lots of garou do! Don't feel left out.

Arcane/Cloaking: *MAGE ONLY* - People have a hard time remembering you.

Avatar/Genius: *MAGE ONLY* - You're the quintessential aspect of Awakened.

Backup: *MAGE ONLY* - You can call on someone in emergencies.

Black Hand Membership: *SABBAT VAMPIRE ONLY* - You're a member of the Black Hand.

Certification: *MAGE ONLY* - You have permits for special things.

Chantry: *MAGE ONLY* - Mystic or Technocratic stronghold.

Contacts: People who you know who you have to ask for help and they may or may not help.

Cult: *MAGE ONLY* - Dedicated belivers.

Cultist Allies: *SHADOW LORD ONLY* - This alliance must be kept a secret.​

Destiny: *MAGE ONLY* - You have a sense of great purpose.

Domain: *VAMPIRE ONLY* - Do you have a place of your own that you control?

Dream/Hypercram: *MAGE ONLY* - You have access to Abilities you don't normally possess.

Enhancement (Costs Double Points): *MAGE ONLY* - Cybernetic or biotech improvements.

Fame: *VAMPIRE/MAGE ONLY* - Are you known for what you do? If so, take this.

Familiar/Companion: *MAGE ONLY* - Non-human helper, often with special abilities.

Fate: *GAROU ONLY* - Are you fated to do or discover something so amazing it's worth more than all the gold?

Fetish: A physical object into which a spirit has been bound.

Generation: *VAMPIRE ONLY* - Are you lower than 13th generation? Take this, STs have the right to say no.

Herd: *VAMPIRE ONLY* - Do you have a bunch of humans you feed on regularly? Ventrue: its a good idea to take this background.

Influence: *VAMPIRE/MAGE ONLY* - Are you influential in your city? Do people stand up and listen?

Kinfolk: *GAROU ONLY* - Do you know some Kinfolk?

Legend: *MAGE ONLY* - A potent archetype connected to you.

Library: *MAGE ONLY* - You have your own store of powerful books.

Mentor: Someone is guiding you. This is usually an NPC so ask before you take this background.

Node: *MAGE ONLY* - A place of power to recharge your mystic energies.

Past Lives: *MAGE ONLY* - Memories from prior incarnations.

Patron: *MAGE ONLY* - A benefactor.

Pure Breed: *GAROU ONLY* - Are you distinguished? Can your Tribe look at you and KNOW you're of their tribe? Know you're from a long list of strong powerful garou?

Rank: *MAGE ONLY* - A title, a bit of importance.

Resources: If you want money, you need to take this. Each dot relates to a level of wealth.

Retainers: *VAMPIRE/MAGE ONLY* - Have NPC ghouls? You need to take this.

Rites:: This describes how many rites the character knows at the beginning of the game.

Rituals: *SABBAT VAMPIRE ONLY* - Are you versed in the ritae and rituals of your sect?

Sanctum (Costs Double Points): *MAGE ONLY* - Special work space.

Spies: *MAGE ONLY* - Network of informants.

Spirit Heritage: *GAROU ONLY* - We're all creatures of spirit and flesh, but for some reason, you draw more attention from the spirits.

Status: *VAMPIRE ONLY* - This denotes your reputation amongst kindred.

Totem: *GAROU/MAGE ONLY* - Each member of a pack that possess this background says how powerful their personal Pack totem is.

Wonder: *MAGE ONLY* - A Talisman, Fetish, or device that containes it's own reality-bending properties
Virtues​
-
Self Control: How much control you have; adds to conscience to equal your humanity.

Conscience: How much stuff actually bothers you when you do something wrong; adds to self control to equal your humanity.

Courage: How brave you are. This equals your will power at base.

Humanity: The basis of how you respond to your environment and how you react to bad things happening to good people.

Path: Instead of humanity your character may opt for a path. Note you must know what you're doing before asking for a path and you must present the Path you want along with why you want it to be approved.

Willpower: How well you resist some disciplines and how strong you are when it comes to resisting other odds and ends. Temporary points can be used to bolster rolls or to re-roll a failed roll.
