Above are the different types of abilities.  They are pretty self explanatory, however, we'll take a moment to give a brief summary of each below. Also, there are some that are marked as "secondary and/or werewolf"; these are abilities that are either a werewolf prime ability or can be used as secondaries to bolster a roll when combined with one of the prime abilities. 

As a reminder, all attributes range from 1-5 (base) and each dot expands how powerful that attribute is.  At the 4th dot you may pick a specialty (listed below as well - they are not limited to what is listed; ask an ST before selecting a specialty).

Talents​

Alertness: How observant you are of your surroundings.​

  • Used in things like: spotting objects, noticing things out of place, knowing you're about to be attacked​

  • Kindred Specialties: Noises, Eavesdropping, Fine Details, Hidden Weapons, Crowds, Forests, Animals​

  • Garou Specialties: Ambushes, Eavesdropping, Paranoia, Traps, Scents


​Athletics:  How easily you navigate obstacles and how quick you are on your feet.​

  • Used in things like: jumping, climbing, running, maintaining your balance​

  • Kindred Specialties: Swimming, Rock Climbing, Acrobatics, Dancing, Endurance Running, specific sports​

  • Garou Specialties: Specific sports, Team Play, Swimming, Rock Climbing, Tumbling, Distance Trials, Pentathlon


Awareness (Kindred Only): Much like alertness, it makes sure you know what is going on around you.​

  • Used in things like: spotting objects, noticing things out of place, knowing you're about to be attacked​

  • Kindred Specialties: Ghostly Activity, Mystical Objects, Someone’s In My Head, Debunking


​Brawl: This is hand to hand combat. How well you can throw a punch.​

  • Used in things like: bar fights, hand to hand combat (not with weapons), cage fights​

  • Kindred Specialties: Dirty Fighting, Strikes, Throws, Submission Holds, specific martial arts or combat styles

  • Garou Specialties: Dirty Fighting, Strikes, Throws, Submission Holds, specific martial arts or combat styles


​Empathy: The ability to understand others emotions and emotional queues.​

  • Used in things like: knowing what others are 'thinking', understanding emotions, reading if someone is lying to you​

  • Kindred Specialties: Emotions, Insight, Motives, Gaining Trust​​

  • Garou Specialties: Sense Lies, Hidden Motives, Emotional States, Personality Quirks, Affairs of the Heart


Expression: This is your ability to get your point across clearly. Either in speaking or in writing.​

  • Used in things like: Poetry, emails and blogs, speaking in front of a large audience​

  • Kindred Specialties: Acting, Poetry, Fiction, Impromptu, Conversation, Social Media

  • Garou Specialties: Rhetoric, Inspiriting Speeches, Poetry, Drama, Political Doubletalk, Social Media


​Intimidation: Being able to cow a person using physical violence or even a single look​.

  • Used in things like: keeping another in check, cowing a larger threat into thinking you can do more damage than them​

  • Kindred Specialties: Veiled Threats, Pulling Rank, Physical Coercion, Blackmail, Internet​

  • Garou Specialties: Veiled Threats, Good Cop/Bad Cop, Blackmail, Physical Threats, Revenge


​Leadership​: You lead by example. You are the person people turn to in crisis, and you are able to speak with authority.​

  • Used in things like: running a company, being in charge of a platoon, being the Alpha of a pack/Sept​

  • Kindred Specialties: Oratory, Compelling, Friendly, Open, Noble, Military, Multimedia

  • Garou Specialties: Compelling, Open, Military, Motivation, Combat Readiness


Primal-Urge (Garou Only): Can rely more easily on "wolf thought" (the ability to call on raw animal instincts for guidance) Werewolves with strong Primal-Urge find it easier to assume their various forms or take on partial transformations.​​

  • Used in things like: partial transformations, understanding how an animal is thinking​

  • Garou Specialties: Shifting Forms, Hunting, Hunches, Reacting​
     

Streetwise: ​Knowing what is going on at street level. Knowing who is who and what is what.​

  • Used in things like: knowing which areas to stear clear of, what gangs own what areas, who is who on the street​

  • Kindred Specialties: Fencing, Illegal Drugs, Illegal Weapons, Free Wifi, Gangs, Being On the Guest List, Local Slang

  • Garou Specialties: Fencing, Illegal Drugs, Illegal Guns, Gangs, Unsecured Wifi


​Subterfuge: ​You know how to lie and lie well.​

  • Used in things like: lying, deceiving​

  • Kindred Specialties: Seduction, Impeccable Lies, Feigning Mortality, the Long Con

  • Garou Specialties: White Lies, Seduction, the Long Con, Feigned Innocence


Hobby Talent: This category encompasses anything that the Storyteller deems to be mainly self-taught and is usually (though not always) more active than intellectual.

  • Used for things that are not considered a specialty

  • Suggested Hobby Talents: Carousing, Diplomacy, Fortune Telling, Negotiation, Scrounging

Skills​
Animal Ken:
Knowing what makes animals tick. You also know how to train them to do different feats.

  • Used in things like: keeping guard animals calm, training dogs or other animals

  • Kindred Specialties: Dogs, Attack Training, Big Cats, Horses, Farm Animals, Falconry

  • Garou Specialties: Falconry, Farm Animals, Feral Animals, Attack Training, Horses, Big Cats, Dogs


​Crafts: You are able to work with your hands and create art - be it clay, painting, sewing, etc.

  • Used in things like: creating anything that you use your hands for

  • Kindred Specialties: Pottery, Sewing, Home Repair, Carpentry, Appraisal, Carburetors

  • Garou Specialties: Woodwork, Drawing/Painting, Weaving, Carving, Sculpture, Metalworking, Auto Repair


​Drive: ​Knowing how to drive a car, semi, motorcycle, boat

  • Used in things like: stunt driving, driving defensively, racing

  • Kindred Specialties: Off-Road, Motorcycles, High Speed, Heavy Traffic, Avoiding Traffic Cops

  • Garou Specialties: Off-road, Motorcycles, Heavy Traffic, High Speed


​Etiquette: ​You know how to act when hob-knobing. You know what fork to use and when to curtsie

  • ​Used in things like: knowing how to deal with the elite, knowing how to act in Elysium

  • Kindred Specialties: At Elysium, Business, High Society, Sabbat Protocol

  • Garou Specialties: High Society, Moots, Tribal, Big Business


​Firearms: ​You know how to fire ranged weapons.

  • Used in things like: shooting guns, shot put, knowing how to use a bow and arrow

  • Kindred Specialties: Fast-Draw, Gunsmithing, Pistols, Marksmanship, Revolvers, Shotguns

  • Garou Specialties: Rifles, Pistols, Submachine Guns, Gunsmithing, Marksmanship, Trick Shots


Larceny: This Skill entails familiarity with the tools and techniques for the sorts of physical manipulation typically associated with criminal activity.

  • Used in things like: Picking locks, manual forgery, safecracking, simple hotwiring, various forms of breaking and entering, and even sleight-of-hand

  • Kindred Specialties: Safecracking, Misdirection, Lockpicking, Hotwiring, Pickpocketing

  • Garou Specialties: Pickpocketing, Misdirection, Lockpicking, Hotwiring, Safecracking


Melee:​ The ability to use melee weapons.​

  • Used in things like: wielding a sword, swinging a bat, knowing how to use a knife in combat

  • Kindred Specialties: Knives, Swords, Improvised Weaponry, Riposte, Disarms

  • Garou Specialties: Swords, Spears, Improvised Weaponry, Klaives


​Performance: ​The ability to act, dance, sing, to perform in front of a large crowd or on the big/small screen.​

  • Used in things like: acting on tv or in a movie, singing, dancing

  • Kindred Specialties: Dancing, Singing, Rock and Roll, Acting, Guitar Solos, Drunken Karaoke

  • Garou Specialties: Dancing, Singing, Acting, Rock and Roll, Guitar Solos, Opera, Howling


​Stealth: You know how to sneak with the best of them.​

  • Used in things like: following someone or simply hiding from them

  • Kindred Specialties: Hiding, Silent Movement, Shadowing, Crowds

  • Garou Specialties: Shadowing, Urban, Taking Point, Crowds, Hiding Objects


​Survival: This is the ability to survive in the wilderness.​

  • Used in things like: camping and wilderness excursions

  • Kindred Specialties: Tracking, Woodlands, Jungle, Street Life, Hunting, Urban Exploration

  • Garou Specialties: Foraging, Tracking, Specific Environments (Arctic, Desert, etc.), Trapping


Professional Skill: This category encompasses anything that the Storyteller deems to be a taught Ability and is primarily active in application.

  • Suggested Professional Skills: Blacksmith, Cooking, Fast-Draw, Forgery, Game Playing, Gunsmith, Navigation, Torture

Knowledges​
​Academics:
Book smarts.  Over all learned items and knowledge.

  • Used in things like: teaching, carrying on educated conversations, reading

  • Kindred Specialties: Poststructuralism, Impressionist Painting, Imperial Rome, Color Theory, Linguistics

  • Garou Specialties: Color Theory, Linguistics, Poststructuralism, Ethics, Metaphysics, Sumeria


Computer:​ The ability to operate and program computers, as well as the savvy to keep up with the latest technology.

  • Used in things like: hacking, programming, data storage, creating websites

  • Kindred Specialties: “The YouTubes,” Computer Languages, Internet, Database Administration, HCI, Viruses, specific devices and programs

  • Garou Specialties: Internet research, Video Editing, Photo Manipulation, Programming, Computer Languages


Enigmas (Garou Only): Logic problems, puzzles and mysteries are all in the realm of Enigmas.

  • Used in things like: solving problems, puzzles, or riddles

  • Garou Specialties: Logic Problems, Lateral Thinking, Ancient Mysteries, Things Werewolves Were Not Meant to Know


​Finance (Kindred Only): ​The ability to understand the stock market and how money flows.

  • Used in things like: stocks, bonds, currency exchange

  • Kindred Specialties: Stock Market, Laundering, Appraisal, Foreign Currencies, Accounting, Fencing, Corporations, Federal Bailouts


​Investigation: You've learned to notice details others might overlook, and might make an admirable detective.​

  • Used in things like: spotting things out of place, following leads and solving crimes

  • Kindred Specialties: Forensics, Shadowing, Search, Discolorations, Database Research

  • Garou Specialties: Evidence, Ballistics, Forensics, Fingerprints, Searches, Internet Research


Law: Law can be useful for filing suit, avoiding lawsuits or getting out of jail.

  • Used in things like: being acquitted from a crime, being a lawyer, understanding the law be it Kindred, Were, or Mortal

  • Kindred Specialties: Criminal, Suits, Courtroom Protocol, Contracts, Police Procedure, the Traditions, the Code of Milan

  • Garou Specialties: Fitting Punishments, Litany Breaches, Human Field (Criminal, Liability, etc.)


Medicine:​ This is the book smarts of healing.  You know what medicines work to cure what, you are also at higher levels likely to be a doctor.

  • Used in things like: being a doctor, first aid, triage

  • Kindred Specialties: Organ Transplants, Emergency Care, Poison Treatments, Pathology, Pharmaceuticals, the Kindred Condition

  • Garou Specialties: Emergency Medicine, Forensic Pathology, Neurology, Pharmacology, Poison Treatments, Garou Physiology


Occult:​ You know there's something more out there than just us.  You know about mages and other creatures that go bump.​​

  • Used in things like: understanding odd rituals, knowing what creatures can do what, sometimes finding somone who is a specialist in the field

  • Kindred Specialties: Kindred Lore, Rituals, Infernalism, Witches, Noddist Lore

  • Garou Specialties: Tarot, Witchcraft, Curses, Ghosts, Psychometry, Garou Lore


​Politics (Kindred Only): ​You know your way around the political arena.

  • Used in things like: getting laws changed, getting specific people elected in different areas

  • Kindred Specialties: City, State, Federal, Bureaucracy, Dogma, Radical, Camarilla


Rituals (Garou Only): Rituals and rites are an important part of werewolf life. This Knowledge lets the character know about the traditions, mysteries and ceremonies of the werewolves.

  • Used in things like: rituals and ceremonies

  • Garou Specialties: Accord, Caern, Death, Mystic, Punishment, Renown, Seasonal, Minor


Science:​ Basic understanding of most of the physical sciences, such as chemistry, biology, physics and geology.

  • Used in things like: chemistry, learning about the Earth, knowing how striking an object will affect another

  • Kindred Specialties: Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Physics, Astronomy

  • Garou Specialties: Experiments, Theory, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Astronomy


Technology: This represents a broad acumen with electronics, computer hardware, and devices more elaborate than “machines,” which fall under the Crafts Skill.

  • Used in things like: build one’s own computer, install (or subvert) a security system, repair a mobile phone, or kitbash a shortwave radio

  • Kindred Specialties: Telecom, Computers, Security, Communications, Improvised Solutions, Industrial Espionage

  • Garou Specialties: Telecoms, Computers, Security, Communications, Jury-Rigging, Industrial Espionage


Expert Knowledge: This is anything that is primarily intellectual or mental in nature and must be studied.

  • Suggested Expert Knowledges: Archaeology, Game Theory, Military Science, Psychology
